Abstract Cheerios is a household name that has kept General Mills restocking the shelves for years. Its advertised potential health benefits have made it even more popular over time. Yet that household name is not immune to the backlash from risky advertisement. In a day and age when it seems like anything goes, a simple commercial sparked a nationwide controversy. While the issue at hand may be about race, the following analysis will show that in any piece of media we could pick all day long at the potentially politically incorrect content within. While none of these other issues may have been noticed or addressed, the company was faced with the dilemma of continuing to air the content. One side always has to prevail, and in the case of this ad campaign it is on the side of equality, and they are not losing any sleep or loyal customers over the decision. It is an awful shame to think that as far as we have come as a nation that racism is still so prevalent in our culture. However that being said, this is also part of the beauty of our culture, and that is we all have the right to our own opinion, as well as the right to express it freely. Drug abuse not only affects the person, but also have an impact on the people around them. Substance abuse and addiction can affect different things in life that a lot of people don t make aware of, such as destroyed and broken families, ending careers, deaths, domestic violence, child abuse, and physical abuse. Throughout this paper I will refer to my interviewer as Mr. Officer. He is 32 years old, single, and have three years of European college education. He does not have any children. As far as socioeconomic status he is working class, who comes from poverty like majority of our black folks. The prime motivational driver present at the workplace is effective leadership, the leaders and seniors practice transformational leadership which focuses on inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, idealized influence and individualized consideration. The third motivational driver at work is organizational culture/climate, one of the core values of this organization is respect for the individual which is enforced at every level of the organization. The organization is strongly against the three Ds: Disrespecting, demeaning and disgracing the colleagues, juniors, seniors, clients, etc. The organizational climate is always energetic and positive. There prevails an effective transfer of knowledge, processes and resources along with teamwork. This leads to increased job satisfaction and commitment. Though there does not exist any strong demotivating or dispiriting factor, but slight alterations in performance management system could boost up the motivation level of employees and could turn out to be quite prolific for the organization. Since the company is still practicing the traditional performance management system; the managers evaluate the performances annually, which at times turns out to be an event of rewarding the deserving employees and warning the under-performers. Conversion of traditional performance review system into the quarterly performance review could be highly interacting and engrossing. Productive meetings, mentoring and guiding could be quite interesting and encouraging for the employees (Studer, 2010). Secondly, imposing the company-wide goals on the employees and structuring employee evaluations around organizational goals becomes dreary.
